Controlled or prescribed burns have the ability to strain local resources including fire personnel and emergency communications. The poor air quality also leads to respiratory issues.  We understand the importance burning has, however we ask our community to slow, suspend or even cancel any burns if possible to aid in the response to COVID-19.

Lyon County residents are asked to stay at home as COVID-19 is now considered community spread.
