Your oral health is closely linked with your overall health.
Research shows that people with serious gum disease were 40
percent more likely to have another chronic health condition, like
heart disease or diabetes. At Flint Hills Community Health Center,
your medical and dental providers are all under one roof and can
collaborate for your care.
Periodontal diseases range from gum inflammation to major
damage to the soft tissue and bone that support the teeth. We
can help stop or slow this damage and suggest behavioral
changes that can improve your treatment outcomes.
Our extended hours help us serve more patients. If you need
emergency care, you can walk in to our clinic. Even if your regular
dentist does not work in our clinic, if he or she is unavailable to
see you for your dental emergency, we can help!
Our Future Smiles Dental Outreach program brings quality, oral
health care to children in preschool and school programs in Lyon,
Coffey, Morris, Osage, Greenwood and Chase counties. This
program provides free care for all children regardless of whether
they have Medicaid or private insurance.
Oral health evaluations
Parents receive a report about their child's care and needs. This
program doesn't take the place of a dental exam by a dentist, but
it can help to relieve financial, transportation and missed-work
hardships for parents. Children miss minimal class time and are
treated in a familiar environment.
